The
steamship Macarena was built in Grangemouth in Scotland
and launched 1893. She was sold to the company Fierro in
1920 and got the name Genoveva Fierro. Under a journey
from Gijon to Bilbao loaded with coal she collided with
the steamer Antonia and sunk under tow towards Bilbao
16.December 1925. The wreck was found in May 2000 in two
parts on a depth of 50 meter outside Punta
del Pescador.
