Hoheneicgen
was laid down by Schifswerft Hugo Peters in Wevelsfleth in
Germany, and was launched in 1956. Only three years after
launch she capsized under a journey from Söderhamn in
Sweden to Lübeck in Germany loaded with wood. She went
down in the deep south of Sandhammeren lighthouse outside
Ystad 8. January 1959. The wreck rest today upside-down on
a depth of 21 to 32 meter. Due to the risk of an
environmental accident, the wreck was surveyed and emptied
for oil in 2019.
