Johannes L

Johannes L went down south of Råå harbor in the morning 26. November 1979. She had just left the arbor and was on her way to Stralsund, but at the exit of the harbor they had executed a bad maneuver and damaged her bow. Captain Ferdinand Gerkens believed they hadn't taken any serious damage and they continued south towards Stralsund. A few hundred meters outside the harbor she had her bow ripped open, and was quickly flooded. An emergence signal was sent over radio, and Gerkens gave order to abandon ship. She soon after sank in shallow waters. The wreck rest today on her port side on a depth of 3 to 10 meter outside Helsingborg.
