2511 was a type XXII uboat built at lohm
& Voss in Hamburg and launched in September
1944. She was put in service in 31.Flotille as a
training boat from September to March 1945, and
thereafter transferred to 11.Flotille in Bergen. She
never got time to be sent on any patrols before the
war ended. After the war she was sent to the
Shetland islands and under Operation Deadlight she
was scuttled outside Ireland 2.January 1946. She
rest today northwest of Cardanaugh on a depth of 69
meter.
