3523 was a type XXII uboat built at Schichau
GmbH in Danzig and launched in December 1944. She was
put in service as a training boat in 5.Flotille
23.January and was never sent out on a patrol. In the
evening 6.May she was sunk by a British B-24 airplane
outside the coast of Denmark. The whole crew of 58 men
lost their lives. The wreck was found in March 2018 on a
depth of 123 meter outside Skagen.
