UJ 113 - Nordmark

Nordmark was laid down as a trawler at H.C Stülken & Sohn in Hamburg in 1936. She was requisitioned by the German Kriegsmarine after the outbreak of World War Two, and was refitted as an auxiliary submarine hunter. Under a convoy from Memel to Windau she hit a Soviet mine outside Liepaja 10. July 1941 late in the evening. Still afloat after the first hit, she hit another mine shortly after and went down with five men from the crew. The wreck rest today on her keel on a depth of 26 to 30 meter outside Liepaja.
