The
armored cruiser HMS Warrior was built in Wales in England
and launched in 1905.She stood ready two years later and
was put in service for Home Fleet until 1913 and then sent
to the Mediterranean. After the outbreak of world war one
she was stationed in Devonport and 1st Cruiser squadron.
She battled the German fleet in the Battle of Jutland
31.May 1916 and was hit at least fifteen times by 280mm
grenades and a further six hits by 150mm grenades. Heavily
damaged she was taken in tow but sank on her way back to
England the following morning. The wreck was found in
August 2016 and lies upside-down on a depth of 76 to 80
meter.
