C20
Gazella was a Gabbiano class corvette built by Cantiere
navale fratelli Orlando in Livorno, and was launched in
May 1942 for Regia Marina, the Italian Navy. She was
designed and outfitted out as a anti-submarine and escort
corvette. Her service for Regia Marina was short lived.
Outside Sardinia she hit a mine 5. August 1943 and quickly
went down in the deep. The wreck rest today standing on
her keel as a classic Donald Duck wreck on the north side
of the island on a depth of 25 meter.
