Amoco Milford Haven was a VLLC tanke was built in Cadiz in Spain, and was launched in 1973 . She sailed in different routes in the Persian Gulf before she in the late 1980's was chartered by the Cypriot company Troodos Shipping. 11. April 1991 she laid outside Genova and loaded oil when suddenly the cargo caught fire. Five men immediately perished in the fire and two days later the burning wreck had to be taken under tow towards shore to ease the rescue work and limit the oil spill. She broke in two parts on the third day and the bow disappeared in the deep, while the rest sank later on a depth of 33 to 80 meter outside Arenzano.
