Junker JU 88 A-4

One of the German Luftwaffe's Junker JU 88 A4 airplanes had to be written off the rooster in February 1943 after it was lost after an emergency landing outside Menorca. The airplane has the registration number 140474 and markings 4D-MN. Historical sources claim she was assigned to the German Luftwaffe unit 5/KG 30. As the story goes, on their way back from a bomb raid in North Africa they lost their course and run out of fuel, forcing them to make an emergency landing outside Menorca 24. February 1943. All four from the crew survived the landing. The wreck was found by divers in 2014, and rest today on a depth of 45 to 47 meter one nautical mile east of S'algar, southeast of Menorca.
