Frisia II was built as a ferry in Papenburg in Germany, and was launched in 1957 for Redeerei Nordenfrei Frisia AG. SHe was sold in 1981 to Beate Karoline Wilk, and six years later to Comino Company Ltd in Valetta.  Also here she operated as a passenger and tourist ferry until 2002. She was was deliberately scuttled 12. August 2006 to create an artificial reef and dive attraction outside the island of Gozo. The wreck rest today on her keel as a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of 30 to 44 meter west of Xatt I-Ahmar, southeast of Gozo.
