Juan
Ferrer was a coastal freighter laid down by Astilleros
Neptuno in Valencia, and was launched in 1956 for the
Spanish company Tusset Ferrer in Valencia. She was
sold in 1958 to Naviera Ciudadelana and renamed Playa
Dorado. She was decommissioned a few years later, and
deliberately rigged down and scuttled as an artificial
reef in Palma Bay in 1991. The wreck rest today standing
on her keel like a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of
17 to 28 meter outside Portopi in Palma Bay.
