Dema Trader

Alk
was a coastal freighter built in Wilhelmshaven in Germany
by Jadewerft Gmbh, and was launched in 1957 for R. W
Behramn. She changed hands several times before she sailed
as GGD Trader for an unknown company under Honduras flag.
Under an inspection by the Miami Cost Guard it was
revealed she carried a large amount of drugs and was
confiscated. She was renamed to Dema Trader and sunk as an
artificial reef 28. October 2003 about 2,5 nautical miles
east of Crandon Park and Key Biscayne . The wreck rest on
her keel on a depth of 18 to 26 meter.
