Emperor

The steamship Emperor was built at Collingwood Dry Dock Shipbuilding & Foundry Company and launched in December 1910. From 1916 she sailed for the company Canada Steamship Lines Ltd. After having sailed from Ontario loaded with iron ore she hit ground at Canao Roks in the morning 4.June 1947. She sank in less than thirty minutes and twelve men from the crew perished. The wreck rest today on a depth of 10 to 50 meter at the north side of Canao Rocks northeast of Isle Royale, in Lake Superior.
