HMCS Mackenzie

HMCS Mackenzie was a Mackenzie class destroyer built by Canadian Vickers Ltd and was launched in May 1961for the Canadian navy . She was commissioned the year after and did service from October 1962 till August 1993. Two years later she was stricken from the Canadian Navy's ship lists and sold to the Artificial Reef Society. She was deliberately scuttled 16. September 1995 Outside Gooch Island. The old destroyer rest today standing on her keel like a classic Donald Duck wreck with a slight listing on a depth of 10 to 30 meter. Also see the story of her sister ship HMCS Yukon.
