Novadoc was a cargo steamer laid down by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson in England, and was launched in 1928 for the Canadian company Paterson Steamships Ltd in Ontario. Under a journey from Chicago to Port Alfred she was caught in a ferocious storm on Armistice Day 11. November 1940. She hit ground outside Juniper Beach near Pentwater, and broke in two parts. Due to the rough weather no rescue efforts could be launched, and only some rigging could be salvaged by a fishing boat before she disappeared in the deep a few days later. The battered wreck rest today on a depth of 4 to 15 meter southwest of Pentwater.
