LT-1970 was a tug boat laid down by Higgins Industries in New Orleans for US Army, and was launched in 1953.  She was commissioned in October that same year, and served until 2003 when she was sold and renamed Okinawa. She was bought by Shipwreck Park and South Florida Diving Headquarters, and was rigged down and scuttled as artificial reef #18 outside Pompano Beach 9. August 2017. She was displaced from her original position by the hurricane Irma, and rest today standing on her keel like a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of 9 to 21 meter, about one nautical mile east of Pompano Beach pier.
