2513 was a type XXII uboat built at Blohm & Voss in
Hamburg in 1944. She was launched 14.September 1944 and
put under command of Kplt. Hans Bungards in
31.Unterseeboot flotille as a training boat. In April
1945 she was transferred to 11.Unterseeboot flotille in
Norway under Fregattenkapitan Erich Topp. They
surrendered at Horten 9.May 1945, and sailed to England.
In all secrecy she then sailed to USA in August 1945
where she for years was studied and tested by the US
Navy. In 1951 she was sunk under testing of new rocket
weapons outside Key West 7.October 1951. The wreck rest
today on a depth of 60 meter at Dry Tortugas southwest
of Florida.
