Vienna was a combined sail and steam barge built by Quayle & Martin in Cleveland, and was launched in 1873 for Cleveland Transportation Company. Under a journey down bound from Marquette loaded with iron ore and towing a schooner, she collided with the steamer Nipigon north of Shelldrake 16. September 1892. She was taken under tow but sank before she could be beached. The wreck was found by a US research vessel in 1975 and rest today on a depth of 35 to 47 meter in Whitefish Bay, about one nautical mile from shore. Also see the wreck of John B.
