HMCS Yukon


HMCS Yukon was a Mackenzie class destroyer built by Burrard Dry Dock in North Vancouver, and was launched in July 1961. She was commissioned two years later and did service for the Canadian Navy as a training vessel until1993. She was decommissioned in late 1993 and laid up for the coming seven years. In early 2000 she was sold to be sunk as an artificial reef outside San Diego. After rigging her down and cleaning her up, she was scuttled 15. July 2000 in Mission Bay outside San Diego. The wreck rest today on a depth of 18 to 32 meter. Also see the wreck of the destroyer HMCS Mackenzie in British Colombia.
