INS Yatush

Israel,Akaba Bay

Originally these patrol boats ( PBR - Patrol Boat Riverine) were designed by the US Navy to be used on the rivers in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. Several of these boats were later sold to Israeli in the late 1960s and 1970s. It turned out these boats were not so effective in open waters and they were taken out of service in the 1980s by the Israeli navy. In 1987 one of these was scuttled outside Eilat by Israel Diving Federation. The wreck rest on a depth of 28 to 30 meter outside Coral Beach in Eilat.
