Saint Helena

Frontier was a former deep sea stern trawler who arrived Saint Helena 22. December 1990, and was under an inspection found to carry a large amount of cannabis. The whole crew of four men including captain Willem Merk were arrested and sentenced to prison. Merk managed to escape later, nd in an effort to retrieve some of her cargo, he managed to vandalize the vessel. The vessel was considered of no use and was scuttled outside Lemon Valley 14. December 1994. The wreck rest today on her starboard side on a depth of 18 to 28 meter, adjacent to the wreck of Portzic. Also see the wrecks of Bedgellet, RFA Darkdale, Papanui and Spangereid.
