The trawler Saint Christopher was laid down by Welton & Gammel Cock in England, and was launched in 1958 for the British company St. Andrew Steam Fishing & Co. Three years later she was sold to Abunda Fishing company, and in
1969 she was sold to Irwin & Johnson in Cape Town. She had a straightforward career until she was stricken from the ship lists in the 1980's. She was scuttled as an artificial reef 27. June 1983. The wreck rest today on a depth of approximately 27 to 35 meter in Smithswinkel Bay. Also see the wreck of SAS Pietermaritzburg.
