HMS Coventry

The
British
destroyer HMS Coventry laid down at Birkenhead and
launched in 1974 for the Royal Navy. She was sunk by
Argentinian A-4 Skyhawk planes 25.Mai 1982 under the
Falklands war. She managed to shoot down two enemy planes
but was hit by three bombs and sank within thirty minutes.
19 men of the crew perished and 30 were injured. Today the
wreck rest today on her port side on a depth of 90 meter
north of Pebble Island.
