HMS Coventry

The British destroyer HMS Coventry was laid down by Camell Laird at Birkenhead in England, and was launched in June 1974 for the Royal Navy. Under the Falklands War in May 1982, she provided air cover and escort duties. She was attacked and sunk outside Pebble Island by Argentinian A-4 Skyhawk airplanes 25.Mai. She was hit by three bombs and sank within thirty minutes. Nineteen men of the crew lost their lives, while another 30 were injured. The wreck rest today on her port side on a depth of approximately 90 meter north of Pebble Island.
