Mercurius was built by Servemar Serviços de Rebocadores Agência Marítima under Wilson Sons in Rio de Janeiro, and was launched in 1970. She operated as a a tugboat in Rio De Janeiro for several decades. 3. May 2006 she was together with two other condemned tugboats deliberately scuttled outside Recife as artificial reefs. The wreck rest today on her keel as a classic Donald Duck wreck on a depth of 20 to 30 meter about five nautical miles outside Recife.
