Principessa Mafalda

Principessa
Mafalda was built in Sestri Levante in Italy and
launched in 1908.
She sank outside Porto Seguaro 25.October 1927 under a
voyage from Genoa to Buenos Aires with 971 passengers. On
her way towards Buenos Aires she experienced mechanical
problems and in the evening they also lost one of the
propellers and an emergency signal was sent out. At 22:10
that same night she sank with her stern first. According
to local dive shops the remains of the ship rest today on
a depth of approx 12 to 20 meter outside Porto Seguaro.
